Thanks so much Y'all :D I'm excited about the results and a little overwhelmed with all the photography I need to do, but I've got a start today at least.

Here's one of the Shiboridashi that I showed you before the firing. Nice crawl on this one.

And another cobalt decorated porcelain cup. This one looks like it just got dug up somewhere or found at a shipwreck

Mystery tea this morning: leftover leaves in one of Shawn's kyusus, but no recollection of what tea this was. So, covered with hot water, and a very nice delicate sweet brew emerged.

The eclectic mix of teawares, pitcher from the Czech republic, cup from Japan, and kyusu from New York, got along quite harmoniously.

I was just thinking about this the other day. That is, wondering if the majority of folks like matchy-matchy sets or if the like to mix it up or both depending on the day. Personally I like mixing it up most of the time.

Speaking of mixing it up, here's a new one. Playing around with making my handles and knobs more playful.

And a porcelain matcha chawan that's a bit more peaceful and minimal

I was in a the process of depositing money in my bank account earlier this afternoon for this this set aftering finding it last night, and when I arrived home it was sold. I wasn't quick enough!!

Luckily I was able to match two other pieces, both of which are still mouth-watering.

Question for you Shawn. The glaze is not asymmetrical to the foot of the cup, not that it is a problem for me. Was that done on purpose?

Haha careful Peacock, it might be a fellow TCer who stole it from you...lol My lips are sealed.

To answer you question. I guess you could say that it was done intentionally by default  Because I guess the way I work it wouldn't really occur to me to try to make the glaze line match up with the foot. I guess I'm saying I'm 'looser' then that usually. A lot would depend on the style of the piece too.

 I confess, that was me, sorry! I had been eyeing a new item for the better part of a day (I thought for sure it would vanish in a flash), and I resisted for awhile, but after it was still around, I snatched it up along with that houbin set to share sencha and gyo with people at work.

Maybe that's a good sign to Shawn that he should make more...? :D

After every firing I tend to ask myself which piece out of all is my favorite. Well, this time around this is the one, strangely. It's actually not something I can identify really. It has a good shape, nice surface and glaze effects, feels great in the hand in terms of balance, but it has a quality that I just can't seem to put my finger on. I had a lot of nice pots out of this firing, pots with much more dazzling colors and great ash, bigger, thinner, etc. This cup just has what my grandmother would call Razzamatazz I think or maybe it's a quietness or serenity, errrrg, I give up trying to explain

Have any of you had this experience with a pot?

Anyhoo, just wanted to show you my fav before it floats off into the world

GREENWOODSTUDIO wrote:Just unloaded my wood kiln today and I'm SOOOO happy. Best firing for me in a long time or possibly ever. Very low loss rate :)! I literally have a couple hundred new pieces of teaware, all different types and styles. I'll try to post some proper photos soon. I'm on my phone now so all I can do is post a teaser interior of a little teacup, hehehe.

Tons of melted ash in the bottom of this baby, crystally rutile blue modulating to white on porcelain.
Finally got some proper photos of this piece, but could not match this interior shot done on my phone out next to the kiln, good old sunlight is sometimes best on these. These cups are going fast! I'd love to see some floating around TC

Indeed, extremely fast. Blink once and they are gone.
