Re: Petr Novák - Pots under influence of tea
Oh man--I knew I was going to be in trouble if I went and looked, and I was right! On the plus side, there is now a new Christmas present to myself that should be heading my way ... I just couldn't resist the gorgeous yohen effects on this pot!
(image snagged from darjeeling.cz, since I am still waiting impatiently to see the pot in person ... )

I'm sure it will be even lovelier in person, when you use it and see light moving over the surface--like you can see the flame on it again.

Given what I've seen of Petr's work, I have no doubt you're right! Now I just have to patiently wait for it to come into my greedy hands...
Re: Petr Novák - Pots under influence of tea
thank you very much for your support! I like this pot and I really looking forward to hear your feedback and your impresions when you will hold it in your hands and (more importantly:) how your teas are going to fit in.hopeofdawn wrote: I just couldn't resist the gorgeous yohen effects on this pot!
Here is smaller one, without those impresive yohen effects, but feels right. 60ml, unglazed, high iron stoneware.

Re: Petr Novák - Pots under influence of tea
It arrived! It actually got to me on the 30th, the day before New Years, and I actually didn't have time to christen it until New Years Eve. Which I think is oddly appropriate for my 'phoenix pot'. I didn't get a chance to take pictures with decent light until today, but now that I have, I thought I'd share...
I love this pot--it has a nice surface texture, amazing color on the clay, and is very light and thin-walled. So far it's brewed everything I've thrown at it like a champion. More pictures posted up in Teaware of the day, if anyone's interested.

I actually bought the 60ml unglazed version pictured in the post above yours as well. I've been excitedly waiting. Saturday we got a note in the mail that it arrived but we weren't home, so now I've had to wait the rest of the weekend so I can go pick it up from the post office on Monday (later today!)

Thank you for sharing!! I have to admit, I like this combination more and more (this red clay with charcoal reduction fire). So I am happy to see that tea folks around aprichiated as well. Thank you for your support!hopeofdawn wrote:I thought I'd share...
Picutre from today testing. New Year with new Mirka's stove and new kettle of mine. Working nicely...( And yes, snow is down, rainy January. A bit strange for this season...)

Beautiful works, Petr--as always, I'm tempted to throw money at you for more than one of them! But given that I've already snapped up one of your 'gems', I don't want to be *too* greedy ...
