It is hard to say which tea culture has stronger influence on my work. It is still in progress as my tea experiences are. But if I should choose between Japanese or Korean influence so for now I can say Korea is more important. I try to achieve the same feeling but in my own style. Actually, at the present time I drink more Chinese and Taiwanese tea so I also work on ripening those Tea-tastes and cultures in to my pots too.

I can see both the Korean and Japanese infuence in your works, but thanks for sharing your impression of influence.

After unlouding the kiln It usually takes me whole day to clean and complete pots. The cleaning day is almost behind me so here is one of the first pictures...

I love the saucers. Very cool!

I am the very proud owner of some of Petr's works. They are a joy to use and incredibly beautiful!

He custom made these pieces for me and I really enjoyed talking with Petr throughout the process. It made the pieces more special.

Those cups on raised saucers are amazing, so interesting!

I think every potter like this stage of the process, don´t you think? Switzerland is not so far so may be you can come to our place someday and fire with us your pieces in our wood kiln.

If anyone here is on the fence about Petr's wares, I'd like to put this "exhibit A" into evidence:



I acquired this little pot which arrived this last week. Yesterday I tried it for the first time on some Da Ye that didn't exactly float my boat the one other time I had it, my first impression was that it was flat and uninteresting. I had previously brewed it in yixing.

This little pot smoothed it out, but didn't cover up the fragrant nature of the tea. It held the heat well enough to bring out some nice flavors, and I had a very enjoyable session. This afternoon, I again used the pot for some shui shan (?) that I thought was a tiny bit over roasted. Again, we got some magic and the "roasted" became more nutty and balanced.

It's very functional too, maybe a tiny bit dribble as I've noticed some porcelain pots are prone to do if you don't pour carefully. (I'm a pretty aggressive pourer, I like to empty that baby as quickly as possible.) And it pours like lightning if you don't mind a drip or two- <5sec to empty. Wow. The screen inside looks like a tiny hybrid of sasame and ball filter (I should post a shot of this, huh?) and works like a charm. The lid stays on very well and it's well-balanced.

I wanted to make this note here because I tend to be skeptical of teapots outside my comfort zone, which is generally tokoname kyusus and yixing from decent sources. This particular little pot, however, is well-designed and well-crafted.

Now don't go buying them all up. I might want to have another one in the future.

Oooh, beautiful. A touch to austere or rugged to be simply pretty: striking fits better. Nice.
