So nice to add a piece to my collection from another artist whose work I've been admiring here on TC.

Having a lovely series of infusions of TGY, brewed in my little Seong-il pot, and drinking from one of the little cups that arrived this month. I am just loving the effects of the light on the shino glaze in the bottom of the cup--there is a subtle shine and glow that is just delightful. When it is empty, it's still lovely, but full of tea, it's splendid. It's impossible to catch with the camera, because the loveliest bit of it is how it moves, and the subtlety of the green tint over the peach of the cup. But I'll try for a picture a little later.

"smooth" Seong-il collection ... minus a few matching cups. Rou Gui from IPT is brewing ...

The pot holds around 3 ounces, 90 ml comfortable. What is about Seong-il's work that is both very appealing and immensely enjoyable to use?

Yeah ... good idea, Ian! Thing is, if I showed these to my mom, she would likely turn her nose up at them.

And the "faceted" shelf ... wowza! These are all faceted pieces. Gorgeous works of functional art!
