Moss Beach Ceramics - Matt Brown (Moss) - Ceramics pics

by Moss » May 19th, '09, 13:53

New here and wanted to introduce myself.

I am a potter in Moss Beach California specializing in soda firing. I have a tremendous interest in Japanese ceramic forms and welcome any comments or advice. Some of the work I see here is truly inspiring.

I have an online store at on Etsy at http://www.mossbeachceramics.etsy.com and a regular website at http://www.mossbeachceramics.com although it is not recently updated.

You can see some of my work in person, a set of chawans, at Teance in Berkeley, California.

Feel free to IM or mail me. My address is mbrown@mossbeachceramics.com

If you are interested in any purchases, please IM me or mail me or check out my Etsy store Per forum rules I may not post any prices or sell directly from this site.

Thanks Mike!

Thanks Mike. Good to be here. Very excited to make this contact and to learn.

In a way it is sad being a potter interested in tea as you work and work and work and find every time you look around you that you know less and less about what you love. Of course that is your view expanding and focusing, but it is an interesting place to be and I anticipate learning much from the members of the forum.

Hey glad to see that you found me on Etsy. I suppose I should put up a couple pictures of the monk's cups as well.

Thanks Sarah! Good recommendation to come over here and check it out.

WooHoo!

by Moss » May 19th, '09, 22:36

Woozl! Cool. Thanks! That is the first time I have seen my work after it's been sold to someone (other than my friend Joel who makes beautiful yunomi and whom I have asked to come on over here...)

As for cleaning me out, I have a lot of mud that needs cleaning. :-)

Starting to work on another load. If you want anything in particular or think that there are things that would do well, let me know, I don't invest a lot of ego in the types of things I throw. I like to get challenges so if you or anyone has ideas, I'd like to hear them.
