Re: Wood Fired Ceramics by Bill Perrine (Split-Fire Pottery)
Hi everyone,
I fired on Friday, even though I was planning on earlier in the week. Took a couple of pictures along the way. I thought some had artistic merit, Cory is the photographer, what do you think Cory? I would welcome your critique.
First color...
Cone 12 going down...
Got a peek in there this morning and it looks like a great firing! I can't wait to open it up and see all my hard work come to fruition. I made sure I placed pieces where I thought they would do best. I also reduced well to give my Oxbloods a strong red, my shinos the variation I like and the other glazes their best colors. Our fingers are crossed.
Cheers,
Bill

Thanks Bill for these innovative shots, quite interesting to see the inside of your kiln in operation!T-session wrote:Hi everyone,

Re: Wood Fired Ceramics by Bill Perrine (Split-Fire Pottery)
Hi,
Got home and it was very overcast out but I took some pictures anyways, plus I have some from Sunday when I opened my kiln. I even retook a couple this morning when there was a very short window of faint sunlight. I'm hoping for sunlight when I get home this afternoon.
It's a start... BTW, these pictures are from my blog where I have free givaways every few weeks just for becoming a follower and leaving a positive comment . It's that easy. It's splitfirepottery.blogspot.com
Maybe I'll see you there. I'm giving away a tea bowl from this firing in a couple of weeks.

Wow, Bill, those all look great! I especially like the turquoise-y purple pieces. It must be really gratifying to see your work come out so beautifully.

Hi,
Glad you like them so far Mrs. Chip, Victoria and Geeber. Had hail/snow this afternoon, not that normal for this time of year... Had a brief let-up then quick pics. I'll take more when I see some sun, hopefully tomorrow Also, this was a better than average firing as I had closer to 65% good ones! Maybe I'm knowing my kiln better?!
These are some nice small teabowls.

You know it gets hot up there around 12. I might go a little less soak and catch 12 about where the picture was taken. I kept firing until 12 had almost a full arc. Really like your pottery, I checked out your site again.chicagopotter wrote:Yay, cone 12!!!
