TreasureHunt Treasure 1. A beautiful cup/wan from Bill of SplitFirePottery ... Surprise, it is NOT turquoise.
I believe this piece was fired on its side, resting on 3 shells?
Winner TBD and announced later!!!

New kyusu from my last firing. Nice ash! Six oz and pours it in 5 seconds.
Also I am working on new items... no particular reason... ummm... just wanted to. I am firing again in the near future. I'll keep you posted.
Cheers,
Bill

Thanks for the compliment Yinwenqian, I am very pleased with how it came out. I had a great firing overall. There are always some that hit the pile. (I have a pile of rejects under a large spruce tree next to a kiln.) You can see it behind and just to the right of the kiln in this picture.
I had a large, beautiful-looking casserole that was tossed because of a crack in the bottom. Cost of doing business.
Cheers,
Bill

Verrrrry interesting!
Your torquiose kyusu arrived a couple weeks ago, very beautiful. I need to take some photos now that the fam is complete, 2 small wans, 2 small yunomi, and the head of the family ... the kyusu.

I used the square cup again tonight, Bill, with Tie Luo Han, it works very well!
I don't know if you caught the posting I did, shortly after it arrived.

Hi everyone,
I just finished a new firing. I am going to unload it on Saturday, the 15th of October. I have a group coming then that was part of a wood-fired workshop I gave on the 8th and 9th. I did manage to put a few pieces in, mostly in the back. I included some pics anyways. There is a couple of teapot orders on top.
Here is the first peaks...
I'll post more pics after we unload. I am having a tough time waiting.
Cheers,
Bill

I think I see my kyusu in that beautiful turquoise glaze? I think that must be the little turtle on the lid

Turtles too... a tounge twisting, top shelf type, turquoise, turtle-topped teapot (kyusu... but it didn't rhyme)
Kickin' kyusu...
