Michael,

Wow! Glad that you made it through that.

That is almost exactly the description of the event that just claimed my father's life (including almost not making it thru the surgery itself). So I know pretty well (from the outside) what you have just gone thru....and know you'ver had a tough go if it, for sure.

Take it slow and her's to a successful recovery.

best,
..................john

Thank You John, your words mean a lot to me...As I've said in the abstract, I'm sorry to hear about your father. I can attest, to the fact that these things can come out of the blue to knock you for a loop. I don't really know what else to say to you other than to say also take care of yourself and to give yourself time to successfully recover..

Thanks again,
Michael

Hi all,
Here's today's Chawan from a Firing I did with Phil Cornelius many years ago...It was fired in a gas kiln. Lots of fires in Colorado and no rain in sight. Thanks for looking...

Thanks chip, for the moment we are not at direct risk, but we are all suffering from the effects of dense smoke, really bad on the eyes and throat...No Rain in sight. Even the old timers are saying that this level of drought and heat is highly unusual and it's only mid June...

Hi All,
It's a glorious time of year here high in the San Juan mountains of southwest Colorado...This summer's fires and drought have passed and we eventually had a great monsoon season with many unwanted consequences in the form of dangerous and deadly flash flooding. It's quite something living in an area of such contradictions.

A few works from my firing yesterday...Ash Tenmoku under Nuka fired to ∆10 (2345F) in reduction in my small updraft kiln.

Thanks for looking and I look forward to any comments you care to offer.
Michael

Thanks Chip, you are the best...I'm firing another kiln load or two in the next few days and will have lots of stuff to show...

There will be some small, white curved lipped cups...from white stoneware. See I listened...

My slip cast pieces glazed with satin celadon. I decided to glaze them all the same to embrace the uniformity thing, I think I like them better now...I like them as a group. All of these pieces were fired yesterday in my small kiln...Thanks for looking.

Hi all,
I'm going to start listing new work in my Etsy shop in the next few days. But in the meantime a few images of what's to come...This white stoneware tea cup was fired in my small updraft gas fired kiln to a temp. of 2345F and is glazed with a rutile crystal glaze and nuka. It measures 1.75" h. x 3.35" w. and holds 75ml.

Many thanks for looking...
