Really excellent, Michael. Some very fine chawan. As Chip says, looking foward to seeing more of your pieces from this lastest firing, and hopefully some description of how things went overall. You have to be very happy with the results!

Thanks for taken a look and for posting your comments here, I appreciate it. Good luck with the firing Cory, sinks are certainly tricky.

My last firing was a good one...same glazes on different claybodies doing some nice things.

I recycle all of our clay here in the studio, inlcuding the students clay. I've been throwing the clay as it comes from the pugmill. As a result every pug load is different depending on who's throwing with what and when. As this hybrid clay works its way back into the recycle the clay changes yet again. I'm thinking of the concept of sourdough starter, a bit from each batch to "start" the next. The idea of an ever changing claybody would drive more potters nuts...but I'm loving the ever changing variations of my glazes on these "one-of-a-kind" claybodies.

whoa! i like that Tenmoku and Nuka Chawan! any hope that you are gonna make some Yunomi with that type glaze? I am over my quota in Chawan BUT could use a new yunomi!

I'm glazing work now for the next firing and can easily include several yunomi with the tenmoku and nuka glaze combination. Do you have a size and shape preference? I currently have +/- 100 bisqued yunomi ready for glazing.

3, 4, 5, 6 ounces as a range. Generally speaking, I am not a huge fan of the tall cylindrical yunomi, so lower and wider I guess. Tapers are nice as well.

personally i have plenty of smaller cups that i use..so I was actually looking for more an 8, 9,10 oz range cup for my daily drinking
shape not so important..im not adverse to taller tapers are good for me too! im just looking for a good 'feeling" yunomi..Yeah..I know..kinda ambiguous huh
