Good Morning from Southwest Colorado, 7500' up in the San Juan Mountains...Glorious day so far.

This piece is glazed with my white shino and then rubbed with Portland Cement on the outside and fired to ∆10 (2345F) in my small kiln. I posted a link to more images of this cup in my Etsy shop...

Thanks for looking,

I got the package earlier this week, thank you so much! Pictures will have to wait as I'm hoping to have enough self control to make them my Christmas present. My husband is getting used to me ordering teawares and then telling him "okay, give me this for X occasion." :D

Hi Anna,
Thanks for letting me know your package arrived and that all is well...My wife does the same thing...She gets something she wants and wraps it up and gives it to me to give to her...Always makes me laugh.

Thanks again Anna for your support,
Michael

Here's Today's Matcha Chawan glazed with White Shino, Wood Ash and Copper and fired in my small kiln in reduction to ∆10 (2345F). It measures 3" h. x 5-1/2" w. and weighs 13 ounces.

Many thanks for looking...

Hi,
A few new small cups from a recent firing, both are approx. 2-1/2" h. x 2-7/8" w. and hold 120 ml. They are glazed with White Shino over Ash Tenmoku. The Red areas are a result of the iron bits in the in the clay body fluxing and "burning" through to the surface of the glaze...I'm quite happy with these pieces...

I posted links to my shop where I've posted additional images of each. I think they need a closer look...Thanks again for looking,

Michael ShyRabbit

I really appreciate the overall aesthetic of these pieces...the cups' shapes have interest and then there is the added dimension of the cups' rich, surprising, and deep glazework. For me, the black depth of the inner body adds a richness to these pieces and is very complimentary to the exterior. Congratulations on these! Very nice pieces!

Gorgeous cup. And those ridges look highly functional--protective against scorched fingers.
