Depends on your caffeine tolerance: I have no problem going to sleep after a small quantity of tea, and find a nice long gong fu session with a fine oolong or puerh or even a green or white tea can be relaxing, but that last session is with a small quantity of actual leaf, infused many times, so my caffeine intake is low and spread out over an hour or two.

I also am enjoying the Lemon Myrtle rooibos from the Cultured Cup, and chamomile with mint, or hibiscus, or hydrangea leaf, are also lovely non-caffeinated alternatives.

Tonight I think it will be Lemon Myrtle Rooibos.

Hydrangea leaf? Do you have a picture? I have been meaning to get some rose bud or pedals. That always brews into a nice drink. It is Awesome cold. Also Hibiscus Is excellent!! I don't have too many non caffeinated drinks other than rooibos, (in bags) Tazo, (in bags), and this kava stress relief herbal tea from yogi teas (in bags). But it's really good. I'm looking to try other things though. There's so many teas and blends and herbs its crazy. So any suggestions are great and descriptions.

I don't have any pictures of the hydrangea leaf tea (aka gamro). I got it from Hankook.

It is pretty pricey, gram for gram, but one or two leaves are all you need for a nice nitecap cuppa.

I quite like the Hydrangea from Hankook as well. It is relaxing and somehow cooling ... GREAT at night.

It is really expensive though. I would hate to buy it and wish I didn't. Do they have sample sizes?

When I don't want caffeine, I drink mugicha, a Japanese barley drink. It's not caffeinated and it has a nice solid roasted flavor to it. It's one of my favorite hot drinks.

I also enjoy a cup of steeped mint.

I've heard of that. Have you tried it Iced? What vendor would you recommend? I know Dens Tea carries it.

For me it's my favored pu-erh. I can take 1 or 2 cups of 250 ml each depending on the weather and how much wine I had for dinner and sleep soundly afterwards.

I'm rather fond of houjicha at night. Most of the caffeine is removed during the roasting process.

A LOT! And you can multi steep this stuff as well. I like the second steep more than the first.

I have gotten 1 quart of excellent tea from 2 leaves. THese two were so strong in the first infusion that I suspect I can get two out of them.
