What kind of tea is it + value?

by darekite » Aug 11th, '10, 14:08

Hi there!
I received some (allegedly good) tea boxes as a gift when I was in China.
Here they are:

The box's dimensions: 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.5 inches.

I don't understand any of what is written on the label.
Can anybody tell me what kind of tea that it is and what its value more or less is?

Thanks a lot!

I have moved this to Tea>Other since it is a tea related question and not Teaware related.

I cannot read it either, but I am betting Ti Kuan Yin oolong since they often come in these individual serving packets ... just my best guess.

Chip, I think you're right...

The large square symbol on the lower left.... the three symbols on the left side look like it: 鐵觀音

All be it stylized.

All the rest of the characters seem to be qualities ('unique aftertaste' etc, etc)....

Yes, it is indeed Tie Guanyin. The characters are in the ancient seal script.
