well I stored all of mine in tins..of course and... I always instantly try my teas the day I get them and usually I only get 2-4 ounces and if they're expensive only one ounce. But the tins I got are the teavana brand ones and I've had them for about 5 years and they still taste fresh and great for whatever reason.

I have an idea for you TwoPynts : you can make a last order and get the nicest tea bags you can find (japanese make great tea bags..) and then prepare lots of bags with different teas from your personal tea library... now your Christmas presents are ready! Give some teabags to the people you like in a nice box (or not), and with explainations on the different tea, etc... share your tea!

Excellent idea fdrx.
I have some of Adagio's tea bags, they would probably work.
What is this I hear about using an iron to seal them closed?

you could also give them away in loose leaf form in small tins or pouches and include a teaball infuser...a little more expensive but then you´re introducing people to loose leaf...and those infuser balls are pretty easy for people used to teabags to use.

less is more.

easier said than done...

Try this experiment : choose one tea in your library. spend 10 days with it only. you can brew it in as many ways as you like, but have this one tea only.

then it's easy:
forget that you can't do it
and you do it

now maybe for only 5 days (or any number of days), what matters is to spend a duration that is significant to you with the one tea you picked. it is like a game. the deal is to play "doing more with the least", a "change of perspective" game.

When I travel, I pick one to three teas to bring with me for a weekend to a week or more. It can be a great way to rediscover why I liked a particular tea so much in the first place.

If I travel (not so much these days) I'd probably end up bring more back with me than I brought in the first place.

Well, pretty much anywhere would be better than S. FL for tea. Miami might have something but I'm thinking they probably are more into cigars and mojitos.
