Help Identifying Tea

I was given this tea a few years ago, I dont have the original packaging. Does anyone know what it is and what the brown seeds or nuts are?

That is not tea. It looks like pomegranate seeds.

It is tea, there are tea seeds in it & green tea leaves, what looks like very small toasted rice, it tastes very much like a genmai cha. You can peel the husks from the brown seeds/nuts and there is a nut inside.

hum...maybe black broom corn seeds...or black johnsongrass seeds from the Sorghum genus

those things look so familiar to me what are they!

...hum...now that you mention it has toasted rice in it..and tea, I would say those are black jobs tears. That would make the most sense. Did a Korean friend give this to you?

I have no clue, but I think I want to clarify what Poohblah said. It is not "Tea" as in tea from the Camillia Sinensis plant. It likely is some sort of Herbal Tisane. That is what really opens it up to be a whole gamut of things. Herbalists can get a little crazy with throwing a bunch of stuff together and calling it a tea that will help you with X, Y, and Z.

*Edit: On another note, if you are adamant that the leaves in there are actually from the tea plant, it could be a type of Korean Grain and Tea Leave blend. Though they do not look quite like a roasted Barley which is common in Korea. It could be some other grain though.

The pattern of the leaf veins doesn't look like tea's to me--looks more like mint's or something. But I am hardly a botanist. Pick out the chunkles, and take another picture of the actual leaves?

Ther are indeed Black Job's tears, toasted rice (very small),tea seeds, tea leaf and stalk..

Yes there also does seem to be another leaf in there too, it doesn't smell like mint. I will have another look.

Yes, it is very good, very similar to a Genmai cha, very nutty flavour. :)

sometimes I drink this 5 grain korean tea at night or while bbq nice straightforward roasted grain taste. It has a little jobs tear in there too.

One possible way to tell is to brew it, and chew the grain after brewing. I'm not kidding. The Korean roasted corn tea is almost edible after brewing. I assume other grains would be chewable too. Then the taste might give you some hint :D
