Which types of tea do you drink in the morning?

Postby ClarG » Dec 15th, '13, 23:44

Which types of tea do you drink in the morning? I sometimes will have green tea, oolong tea, or black tea like Darjeeling or Assam in the morning.

Usually greens or oolongs; I rarely start my day with puerh.

Always start the day with Sencha!

Perhaps adding a poll to the question would be interesting.

Sencha as my first cup. Oolong after dinner. My taste buds like something light in the morning and deep in the evening.

Usually oolongs, greener ones in warmer weather and darker ones in cooler weather. A cup of decent Longjing is also great in the morning. Lately I've been drinking some of the black teas from Yunnan Sourcing. They have a bit more oomph in the caffeine department when I need a little extra motivation in the morning.

I'm incredibly slow in the mornings, and I've been trying different things to see what gets me going the best. Still haven't decided. I tend to drink black most often, sometimes mate. Right now, I'm drinking a chocolate black, but it's not my favorite.

I've been thinking about putting together one, as I haven't ordered any of Adagio's teas yet. I had one of the chais at someone else's house, but chai is sometimes a bit too spicy for me in the morning. I'd be happy to hear suggestions of things to try out.

Sencha, Yunnan black or pour over coffee (it's like tea!).

Sencha!
I am an early breakfast person, so usually right after.
My honey is an English-black-tea-with-milk kind of girl. Always served with sweets. I will often have this with her then sencha afterward.

If it's really early, about 6 or 7 am, nothing .. if it is not so early, 9 am or later, I have breakfast just to gōngfū throughout the morning!

Two cups of strong coffee from a Vietnamese-style drip brewer! Tea is for later in the day. :)
