I am wondering, does white tea have any caffiene?? It is late at night right now and I am craving a cup of white tea... but I don't want to be like this for the rest of the night ---> :shock: maybe someone can email me in case I forget to look for the reply to this question.... cag1335@yahoo.com

I think I remember reading somewhere that caffeine content is not necessarily determined by tea type (white, green, black, etc), but by growing conditions (weather, topography..) and processing (picking time, position of leaf on bush, firing temperature, etc.).

I have seen an analysis previously that showed certain white teas (and green) to contain more caffeine than hearty black teas. But what causes this is probably a whole mix of factors.

I guess what I'm saying is that I really don't have an answer. One must wonder why I'm even writing this then. :?
