Others would switch up. Completely rinsing out the kyusu between "sessions" was not realistic so no attempt was made to do so.
Must have been interesting to have these people prepare their teas for you. Did you by any chance catch some of that on video with your cell phone?

Unfortunately, this was not permitted by the WTE. There were reasons for it which while I respect, it was a shame nevertheless. Break the rules, and you risked an escort from the Expo!

Rules be damned, a lot of photos were being taken all over the place in the last hour of the show. I think most everyone adhered to the rules but then finally caved at the end.

I was able to snap some group photos of some old and some new TeaFriends (with enthusiastic subject permission) which I will post.

Likewise! 8)

Currently prelim sipping OTTI 13 O-Cha Shincha-s while weighing/packaging. So far, Miyabi, Aoi, and Sae Midori ... mind blowing green liquor of the latter. First steep was almost as green, this is second steep ... my first impression was that it looked like usacha minus the foam!

... a break from OTTI tastings. Houryoku Shincha LE from Den's. Quite tasty. Den made this one really sing at the WTE. I came close to an encore today.

A blend of Maiko's sencha Maruyama and shincha karigane. Very seet, deep oceanic broth. Yummy!

Opened a gift from Sugimoto that I received from the family at the WTE. I am not sure what this selction is exactly since all the labels and inserts are in Japanese. It is shincha, I remember this much. I have to write and ask.

Anyone who received shincha from Sugimoto, was there English included?

I was negligent in my brewing this morning and oversteeped a bit. Or perhaps this one wants cooler brewing.

Chip, could you take a photo of the packet and post it on here? Perhaps one of us can translate it for you?

Hibiki-An shincha Traditional ... obviously an asamushi. This is a pretty agreeable asa actually. Each session has been pretty good so far.

Another Den's sencha morning, with the shin-ryoku in my Petr Novak kyusu, and rainbow curtains cup from Shyrabbit.

One of my goals for the new house will be to have a nice tea corner that provides a nicer setting for impromptu tea shots than this....
