Xell's Zenhodo Yame Sencha. This is his top of the line which is on sale at the moment. Deep, delicious, strong mouthfeel and huigan. This is a very enjoyable sencha.

+1 I enjoyed this one very much as well. I also experienced a deep, lingering mouthfeel. Refined veggie notes and a quite noticeable sweetness. Definitely worth experiencing, fine Yame sencha!

All this kyusu-love from the SOP prompted a rare evening sencha session with organic Asatsuyu from O-Cha, in my Petr Novak TC TA SO #3 wood-fired shino kyusu. It's a delicious and pleasant session, and just as importantly, it's helping me cope with this wave of TAD....

I JUST got my glass teapot/strainer. I am getting ready to make some sencha. I learn so much from these chats, but then one says opposite of another one so it's trial and error!

I just got my package of tea and teapot from O-Cha and I'm in love with japanese fukamushi green already. I got Chiran Asatsuyu Sencha and it's really really green. Grassy and seaweedy taste and soft marine like aroma, delish. It is quite astrigent like said in package. I think I put too much leaves this time.

Isn't that one of the core beliefs of TAD?

I'm curious why you use a tea boat for that houhin. It doesn't look like the type of vessel you would pour water over.

I'm wondering which parameters both of you are using to brew that tea?

At least 2 grams per ounce water. I am guessing around 60* C.. Be sure to preheat everything. 1.5 minutes for the first steep. 10-30 seconds for the second. You can increase temp and time for subsequent steeps.

Oh, a be prepared for the "must sit down moment." And avoid any distractions for this one. You want to be FOCUSED.

Thanks Chip.

Just received two bags of this tea and another one of their gyokuro #1. Will try this one over the week-end.

I am currently drinking a Sencha known as “Tsuyuhikari”.
It's a hybrid of Asatsuyu and Shizu7132.

A very gentle and sweet green tea in a limited edition!
