Tsuyu Hikari from Thés du Japon. Very floral at first, turning into peach and exotic fruits. Quite long with a slight bitterness. Very good balance. Nice for the price.

Tenryu while I am home waiting for a package to arrive. Sadly not the long awaited teacup ( but that did clear customs today)!

Wow, Adam--that's *beautiful*!! You must be enjoying it so much--will you use it all the time or only for special occasions?

I am drinking some Kaze Sencha from a local tea business, Macha. Still struggling with brewing greens, I got so disgusted (and rushed) for a while I switched back to teabags. So now this tea is old, it's spring 2012.

But the holiday crush is over and I *do* remember how great the tea was the one time I got it right. So I've dug out the thermometer, measuring spoons & cups and here I am!

Trying my very first genmaicha, which a friend sent me as a surprise gift. Very interesting, I think I can get used to this. :)

Kase Sencha today for me. Still stumbling a bit on the brewing but definitely making progress.

An embarrassment of riches today. At 8:30 am the doorbell rang and it was the postman with a box full of wuyi oolong samples from EoT. I had just finished 8 infusions of one of my new teas when the doorbell rang again at 11:30 am. This time it was the letter carrier with a small box containing 100 grams of my favorite Sencha Otsuusan from O-Cha.

I think you can hear the tea sloshing in my tummy as I walk. This is why teachatters seem always to be in search of smaller and smaller pots!

Few posts ago I asked here about Maccha Uji no Sato from Maiko. Despite the lack of recommendations I ordered :) I do not deny - I was seduced by the price. So I say - I'm very pleased. A great balance between sweetness and bitterness. Just like it.

Uji Sencha Jubuzan from Hojo Tea. Not sure if it's my brewing or tastebuds but it doesn't really taste that fantastic :?

May I ask what parameters you used ?

This is quite a different sencha compared to what you may be accustomed to. It was grown using no pesticids and no fertilizers, which means no umami. So if you were expecting some, you ought to be disappointed for sure...

Presently about to brew a very nice TaiPing Houkui.

Hmm I used 7-8g in a 330ml Tokoname kyusu, but only filled it to roughly 250-270ml. For temperature and steeping time wise I followed Akira's parameters, 90degrees and 30sec steeping. It came out really astringent and bitter as a first taste, but it did lead to a nice, raw and thick vegetal sweetness. It's not very prominent though :?
