Currently eating pickled green tea from Myanmar: the good stuff (finely chopped) used as a spiritual offering. Salty and spicy and like a dancong or shui xian in flavor. Delicious and a nice way to get a tea buzz and some fiber!

So good I went back for seconds!

I'm drinking Bi Luo Chun Ming Qian, directly from the DongTing Mountains in China.
It is quite intense for a green tea, but still sweet and fruity.
I stay on the low side with both temperature (80°C) and steeping time to avoid bitterness and take the most out of it.

Does anyone has Bi Luo Chun in her/his cupboard or in the fridge?

Today, enjoying organic Asatsuyu sencha from O-Cha. Vegetal, a little astringent, sweet, not as refined as the Tsuen 'Aoi' sencha. A pleasing start to the day.

Drinking Organic Sencha Kurasawa from O-cha today. I have to admit that this is a finicky tea. Having a difficult time getting something I like out of it. Very easy to overbrew even at lower temps. Tried it five or six times and I'm still on the fence.

Been running through old samples of sencha... way too old to be fresh, but they're not terrible.

I'm not sure if copying an instagram URL works this way, a photo of the session here.

Sencha from Miyazaki, Oku-midori cultivar from thes-du-japon

Stunning tea. Recommended to try

Smooth, buttery, so ease to brew.

I just finished some Fukamushi sencha from Den's. Does anyone have any suggestions for gyokuro from O-cha? I'm leaning towards Uji Gyokuro Yume no Ukihashi, but am open to suggestions!

I always think the Kame is both exceptional and a great value!

Thanks! Have you tasted the Gyoku-Hou? I was also debating on picking that up next time.

I had such a good time with my first batch of Gyoku-Hou that I got more with my next order. Tasty, but not overwhelming with the initial briny/umami-ish notes that once put me off gyokuro. And a great accompaniment to dark chocolate.

I've been trying to clear up my old samples of sencha from OTTI tastings. Ugh, that's partly what happens when you get sent to the other side of the world for 8 months!

In any case, I finished off the last of my 2012 samples today, which is a good feeling. Now onto the massive collection of 2013 samples.

By the way, see my post here about using Instagram. I'll still post photos and such here, but everyday drinking sessions will mostly go to Instagram due to the ease of use.

Just finished up the last of my Karigane from Den's. In the meantime, I've ordered some Yame Gyokuro, Yutaka Midori, and Asamushi Sae Midori from O-cha. Hopefully I've made good choices!

Organic Kirishima Gyokuro Saemidori from Yuuki-Cha. Deep flavor, umami, smooth, with no bitterness. Easy to brew.
