Yamamotoyama koukyū sencha:

Actually, the flavour is pretty good. Sweet and delicate. Steeped for 1.30 and saved the bag for a second try later...

O-Cha Karigane Asa-Giri which is a gyo based stem tea. I enjoy steeping it in this 'ensemble' when I don't want too much tea. The 60ml shib is from Andresz Bero, with a Shyrabbit cup and a Shawn yuzamashi.

Hmm. The bagged konacha isn't up to much. Sencha seems better, so far.

I would definitely expect this to be the case. Konacha does what konacha is.

I expected to be more disappointed with the lack of quality in the sencha and thought that the konacha would live up to lower expectations.

I am enjoying Asamushi Sae Midori Sencha from O-cha. It is very pleasant and flavorful. This photo is of the second steep because I find this steep has the best flavor and color!

Today, some spring 2014 Cui Ming Premium Yunnan Green Tea from Yunnan Sourcing. I don't normally go in for Chinese greens, but Scott sent this one along as an apology for losing an order. It's not bad. I think I prefer dragonwell for Chinese greens, but this is quite drinkable. A little sweet, with a beany flavor.

Sencha from Honyama, pesticide- and herbicide-free, Yamakai from thes-japan. Lovely smooth tea. Getting a little obsessed with the vendor now. Between them and o-cha I'm not using anyone else.

Popcorn tea. It tastes as good as it smells.

On even days I go for Jiu Hua Fo Cha from Dragon Tea House. This is one of my favourite teas: I find it complex, with a thick feeling on the tongue, sweet taste in the first infusion, gradually growing fruity as I raise water temperature.

On uneven days I have an organic kabuse from Yuuki-cha. Very grassy and refreshing.

I prefer to change tea everyday so I don't get used to their flavours.

Waiting for some more chinese greens from Dragon Tea House, and looking forward, I am already scratching the bottom of my Jiu Hua Fo Cha.

Organic kanaya-midori from Shimizu, from Thes-du-Japon. The description on the website mentions milky or creamy flavors, which I am not getting. Instead there's almost a minty, cooling quality. It's very interesting. I'll be interested to see what I can get out of this tea when I can control the brewing parameters more closely--right now I'm at the office so I have no idea about the exact temperature or leaf-to-water ratio.
