Too late! I realize now that my kitchen could use some rearrangement, because the tea center is in an unfavorable spot for photography. I need to work on that. Been busy with another little photo project, before dark clouds swept over and actually started dropping some big fat raindrops (!!), and will be posting more later.

Now enjoying some Sunpu Boucha, a lovely tea that technically I think is more green than anything else (no oxidation or fermentation steps) but the deep toasty roast prompts me to store it in the oolong box. The gray clouds and rain are a perfect backdrop for this toasty stuff.

Sorry, I thought so, but I was mistaken when I said I was having an organic in the side chat. The truth is I split my sencha order from Cha-raku between organic and non-organic sencha, and I must have went with a non-organic one in the end, while I thought I went with one of the Organics.

My mistake, sorry. But this morning I had it again, it it really hit the spot!

Tea Roadshow.

Had to improvise all day yesterday ... but brewed a fantastic round of Yame Special Edition asamushi with what I could. Ironically, this may have been my best brewing of this particular asa ... it was really excellent.

Organic Kagoshima Sencha Satsuma No Kunpu.
Today I tried with flash brews and boiling water ..! The result was quite different, less in your face brews, but more structured and complex, every aspect was well matched with the other, each infusion was a mixture of sweetness, astringency, bitterness, with the typical notes of marine/seaweed/grassy, but each aspect was in the right measure and well balanced. Regarding this session, the body was ligher, but the aftertaste was much more lingering.
I do not know yet if I prefer this method or the more traditional one, but it was a fun experiment. I recommend everyone to try!

Hayato Sencha in the Rock (3) by Adam Yusko, on Flickr

Hayato Sencha: it's what's for tea! I really don't know why I don't use the Rocks more, every time I grab this piece I enjoy using it, but it rarely gets grabbed. :?

Happy to see this kyusu arrived safely in your hands Drax !
Manma is the name of this fukamushi sencha from Hiruma Yoshiaki, Saïtama Japan. I don't think "manma" refers to a region...

Ah, thanks for the clarification, Lionel. Also good to know it's a fukamushi, which is not what I expected given the way the leaves looked. The kyuusu handled the tea like a champ, though, so that's a spectacular sign!

Another session with An Ji Bai Cha, spicy, sweet, couldn't be lovelier. So nice.

An evening Session of Mystery Gyokuro. I am pretty sure it is gyokuro, but I lost the label I put with the tea when I moved it to a tin.

Tenryu Special Edition has been gracing the TeaTable a lot recently ... each session is different! I could call this tea enigmatic ... but I think mysterious is more apropos.
