haha.. rules set by the "social" norms :P

it was good. this is a mid fired qing shui ni, decent porosity, it sharpened the tea a little on the middle and low notes, still tasty!

on the other hand, the same tea in a nosaka
Image

sweeter, softer tasting, presents the tea in a delicate manner.

Rimpo from Ippodo... 10g / 300ml water

maybe I added too much water and too less leaves, the tea taste mild as compared to Ippodo Kanro which has strong umami taste. While Rimpo still got the umami taste throughout the whole cup of tea, the flavour could not compare to Kanro's. Maybe it's the 500yen difference. :?

I used the same configuration to brew Kanro but I used 12g leaves instead then. Today I used 10g because I thought saving 2g per day could serve me an extra day by (12-10)*5 = 2*5 = 10g

Pyramid teabag of sencha my sister brought back from Okinawa. Pretty good; a little seaweed-like, but has the 'bean' aroma good Longjing should have. I like it!

Tried Rimpo again today with different configuration.

14g leaves instead of 10g leaves.

The result is so much better. Quite satisfied with this brew.

Some really nice matcha kitano-no-mukashi. This is an offering from Ippodo that is only available for in store purchase at the Kyoto location. Image
