Why do someone would want to avoid matcha from Kagoshima? No there would usually be even less radiation fear in kagoshima since it's so far away. It isn't known as a region for producing matcha... though that doesn't mean you can't get good quality stuff from there.
In other words, Kagoshima is kind of the maverick "upstart" of the Japanese tea world (bunch of fukamushi growing hippies!) in general and as such people often scorn and scoff at a good quality matcha, the most traditional and ceremonial japanese tea, being produced there.
I'm sure there's a bit of truth to that, but there's also a lot of conjecture.
