Avateas Matcha
I recently heard of this company (Avateas) selling matcha and was wondering if anyone has ever heard of it? I can't help but be suspicious since its a fairly recent company.

It is expensive enough. I love it how they claim the cheapest prices, but only compare themselves to companies that are know over chargers.

I do not recommend Yuuki-Cha, though others have had good experiences with them, mine (plural) have been downright horrible.
For matcha and sencha I do recommend (my short list):
I have had years of exceptional service and products from each of these reputable vendors.

this may or may not be a great bit of advice but, may I recommend checking the china town of your area?
or an internatioal market if one exists in your area.
its yielded good results for me.
namely with Japanese green and Chinese as well.

I´d say better to go with one of the vendors Chip recomends...matcha degrades pretty fast once it´s ground, especially if not stored well (airtight and cold) if it´s been sitting around on a shelf it´s going to be stale. The vendors in Chip´s post get the matcha a lot quicker after grinding than an asian market in north america would and they keep it in cold storage until they ship it so it´s sure to be fresh.
