What a lovely and thought-provoking interview. Thank you for sharing that. And how sad that he thinks loose tea may be on the way out....I sure hope he is wrong about that.

Interesting interview, but I ran out of questions about the current situation in Saitama in the context of radioactive contamination..
What about 2011 harvest? whether the Saitama tea is allowed to sell?

I was under the impression that loose teas were experiencing a neo-renaissance... at least on the demand side. but perhaps this isn't the case in Japan?

Yes, these two teas are quite "special"...but it is really worth giving them a try !
I personnally order teas to Hiruma-san directly. PM me if you want, I can give you information to contact him...
