Today i was really cozy staying under kotatsu and wanted to make more tea, but leaves were already at their limit. That's where this question appeared

No, if one pot is dirty and I cannot be bothered to clean it then I just get a clean pot out of the cupboard or get a mug and brew grandpa style!

I have enough pots and gaiwans in most of my tea-brewing spots that I can just grab an alternate, but sometimes even that feels like too much work when I really don't want to get up at all. And in one office, where I only keep one Kamjove, and the cleaning requires a trip down the hall, I often glare at the leaves that have given their all for a while before preparing more.

I simply set the pot aside and get out another. This was not always the case as I remember having one and only one suitable brew vessel. Back then I would clean it out several times a day ... and would never give up a new tea.

Today, the pots sit on an open shelf til the end of the TeaDay ... and the leaves receive boiling water and give up one last teawater brew that is poured into a smaller pitcher and chilled for refreshing cold tea the next day.

So, "never never" ... and "I stood up and prepared more tea."

never never myself as well. I have *cough* a few pots to use..so not an issue for me

The solution to this problem is to buy more pots

The only pot I get up and wash soon after I'm finished brewing is my kyusu. It has one of those wrap-around stainless mesh filters that is a huge pain in the ass to remove and clean if any leaves stick to it.

A downside to my habit of setting pots aside til evening/night. I inevitably have 2, 3, 4 pots lined up to be cleaned out at the end of the night before bed.

I cannot bear to let them sit with leaves in them and then have to deal with it in the morning. A new TeaDay starts with all clean teaware (unless there is a session continuing into the next day, which NEVER happens with a green tea).

When faced with this, I just rinse out well, then let it open in a "warm place" and let the leaves get completely dried and crispy. A toothbrush (reserved for teaware only ) then finishes the job quite nicely.

Guess it was quite easy question, yes, i did get up and clean my kyusu
For now i don't have similar sized kyusu, one about ~110ml, then ~280ml and one big glazed kyusu ~500ml for genmaicha, hojicha or if more people want tea. I want to get more, but have to wait for now, especially all my choices are at or even above 100$ usd

no way, at least not for anything unglazed. I don't like wet leaves sitting in there esp for the greens.

I can't stand to leave any pots with spent leaves inside them unless I know I'm coming back within a couple hours -- knowing that I have leaves staining my strainer gives me lots of anxiety. I'll sometimes let a gaiwan go overnight, but my pots are too precious

I could skip cleaning teapot

One accident that happened at the beginning of my tea addiction always keeps me cleaning teapots at least in evening. I will have nightmares otherwise I forgot about used leaves in big kyusu when it was quite hot for many days... you can imagine the rest

I always clean my kyusu right after I pour the last brew. Then I get the last brew once I've finished cleaning the pot....as a treat
