I've gotten as far as knowing I want to try something from O-cha after reading a bunch of good reviews about their teas, but I still don't know which one yet. I am thinking about starting with the Yutaka Midori and possibly the Fukamushi Supreme. I'd also like to get some from Den's once they announce what teas they are offering.

Haha thats funny, I was actually just looking at purchasing a few samples of some adagio teas, mainly some oolongs maybe a white and a green tea... not really sure yet. Maybe I'll make a "pick my next adagio order" thread...

My Shincha selections so far

by Salsero » Apr 24th, '08, 20:04

In case anyone is interested, I have pre-ordered
  • O'Cha Fuka Supreme (due May 10)
Hibiki An Sencha Super Premium (due May 5 to 9)
Hibiki An Shincha Fukamushi(due May 5 to 9)
Hibiki An Premium (due May 7 to 11)
Maiko Sincha Sencha Kinari (will ship May 2)
Does anyone know if vendors continue to come out with pre-order Sencha as time goes on? Since all these teas are coming out about the same time, does that mean they are coming from the same prefecture?

devites and insanitylater have offered to take some of the TeaPressue off me and help consume some of this in a timely fashion, although it's still a lot of tea! ... and I want more!! Is there no satisfying this craving?

Fukamushi Supreme from O-cha is from Shizuoka. The teas from Maiko and Hibiki-an are all from Uji.

I doubt any other vendors will offer preorders if they haven't done so by now. Shincha is nearly upon us. 8)

The people at Ito En said they are getting Kagoshima and Shizuoka Shincha next week, which would be by May 3rd.

[Edit: they just told me this weekend or early this week (week of Monday May 5th) for the shop]

Ito En Kagoshima Premium Shincha

Ito En Kagoshima Superior Shincha

DENS HAS SHINCHA!

Well not yet but its on their website finally (Date is May 10th). They also added a very nice $19 kyusu which I might buy and I know some others have mentioned in aswell. They only have one shincha up right now, I dunno if they'll get more, but it Shincha Kunpu for $19.75(2oz/56g).

Already ordered some shincha from O-Cha and Hibiki-an, so it's too late for me to consider spending $$$ on Den's... Well, maybe next year.

I was surprised and pleased to see that Hibiki-an offers free shipping for orders above $38. Nice. After discovering that Ito-En doesn't ship outside the continental U.S., I felt very grateful! Yay for free shipping!!
