Slight correction: The porcelain caddy and teapot with copper glaze have glazed interiors.

Also, the capacity of caddys will vary according to the type of tea that is put into them. With Yancha, because of the long twisted leaves, the capacity will be lowered. With Korean green teas, because the leaves are small, the capacity is increased.

That red, white and blue teapot is lovely--I'm not surprised it got snatched up right away! :)

One type of teaware that Seong il made in the previous posting were Buncheong gaiwans. For those not familiar with Buncheong, when you use these vessels, the body of the pots will craze quite quickly creating an interesting effect in the glaze. The color will also change. When new, they look very whitish, but will color rapidly. I will try and post a Buncheong teapot that has been used for only 2 weeks. The change is very surprising. Buncheong are made with slip glaze, so they are very susceptible to color change like Hagi, but more so.

Thanks. There is a lot of domestic demand plus shows and exhibitions in Korea that it is not easy for me to get the amount of work I used to show in the past. There will be something that trickles down, but I don't know when. :(
