Thank you all kindly for your most kindly words ...
TBH, I would have never guessed that I would be active in TA offerings or TAs in general as I had a stereotypical impression of Western artisans teawares, "HEAVY AND CLUNKY." So thanks Michael for being a part of the educational process. It has been a fun journey of re-enlightenment.
Thanks Seeker for sharing. Thanks Dreamer for sharing. They are both beautiful pieces. Enjoy.
And did I mention, there are still around 8ish pieces remaining! Don't miss out if you did not purchase one of these ... and if you did, don't you think you need another?????
And remember, each purchase = one entry into the drawing for this beautiful sake set! (3 chances here so far! )

Thats a nice bowl Dreamer, I havent had a good matcha in a while. Im craving some, but all I have is superior from hibiki-an. That tastes really bad!

I've had the same impression and have never even given a thought to owning Western-produced Japanese-style teaware. However, this posting shows that there are some excellent Western potters who excel in those styles. The sake set is particularly awesome; very, very impressive!Chip wrote:TBH, I would have never guessed that I would be active in TA offerings or TAs in general as I had a stereotypical impression of Western artisans teawares, "HEAVY AND CLUNKY." I got my chawan yesterday... and haven't had time to photograph it yet, but wanted to say... wow. It is absolutely beautiful, and easily one of the most stunning pieces in my growing collection of teawares. The vivid color of the interior, the metallic sheen of the exterior, the weight and balance, everything. Spectacular, and I could not be more pleased!

I'm hoping to photog some of my newer wares this week. I'm far behind on sharing!

My SO arrived sometime over the weekend (deliveries at work,) and I've just opened them. I've never seen so much tape on a package! It was like trying to break into Fort Knox!
But everything arrived safe, sound and lovely! Can't wait to use them.

I know right! Not that I am questioning his methods, but I almost felt like I was going to accidentally break the piece trying to open all the bubble wrap!Geekgirl wrote:My SO arrived sometime over the weekend (deliveries at work,) and I've just opened them. Geekgirl and AdamMy,
Glad to hear the pieces arrived in one piece. Copious amounts of tape and bubble wrap is my insurance policy, never had a piece arrive broken. My long standing record is left intact. Thanks for letting me know.

Also received this cup ... had this been one of the similar Chawan from this TA SO, I would have donned it "1000 Cranes."

And lastly, after numerousattempts to photogragh (in my case, I should say just take pics, can't say I photogragh anything! ), I cannot do this Chawan justice. It has a beautiful golden hue to it that defies my lacking photo skills.
Hmm, maybe I am struggling because it picks up the colors of whatever it is resting on, highly reflective and opalescent.

This is a juxtaposition to the exterior, the inside looks very shino compared to the golden exterior. Has a nice warm interior.TBH, this one was chosen due to the exceptional exterior, but the interior is very nice, cannot wait to serve up matcha in it.Ambrose wrote:Oh so berry nice!
