The price is still TBD, I have a target.
... the prices for our hagi SOs are always below market value for the pieces.

Whew, amazing. I remember seeing those on Magokorodou's store...

I used the word "powerful" for the Snowdrifts. The Rock has this quality, too, but gives it such a different feeling. This cup would be worthy of the Mountain King....! :D

News Flash 1, Mago would be honoured to work with us in the creation of an Eiichi Commissioned work!
KONNICHIWA again,Chip-San,

Thank you for the praise to Eiichi, and the high evaluation.
I approve of your idea.
As for me, it will be glad that he makes something new.
If you tell the specification to me, I will tell your intention to Eiichi.

Thank you for supporting a young ceramist!

Please tell me your idea to me.

Enjoy your TeaDay too,Chip-San!!!
HA, I have him saying TeaDay!

So, I will proceed in the creation of the Eiichi Commission. (sounds like a good book title  )

If you PMed your commitment/interest to me already, I have you on the list, and I will be contacting you soon. If you are interested in committing, please PM asap. More than half of the proposed 20 pieces are spoken for. Those who commit will have first opportunity to choose.

My intent is to target 100 USD per piece for this commissioned work. This is actually quite low for a commissioning, but Mago will make sacrifices as he always does and has an excellent rapport with the artisan.

Although the value I feel we will place on this piece in the years to come will far surpass this price, especially as Eiichi progresses to his potential which I feel is quite lofty. He is truly a Master in the making, a future "National Treasure."

News Flash 2, ROCK and roll!

The ROCK is in progress based upon commitments received from members! If you PMed your commitment to this SSO The ROCK, I will be contacting you soon! If you are interested in committing but have not yet, please PM me ASAP as there are very few spaces available!!!

Again, those who commit will have the opportunity to choose first.

I am still in discussion on price, however my goal is 80-85 USD. This is well below market value for these, especially since Eiichi has stated he will not be doing these again for a while.

I will likely do 2-3 size options. These will be Yunomi which is the best "canvas" for the ROCK, I am sure you agree?

One will be about 3" and similar in size to "SnowDrifts." Then I will spec a slightly larger version, 3.25-3.5". I might spec 3 sizes ... or maybe a slightly different shape.

Target for completion is around 45 - 60 days from now.

Yea, fantabulous!

OK, since BOTH the Commissioning piece and the ROCK are BOTH moving forward, I will create two topics so we can all better track the progress of each without all the confusion brought on by both projects in one topic.

Who brought up the ROCK in this topic anyway ...

When I created this topic, I did not expect unanimous 27-0 support for a commissioning ... and the ROCK as well.

The Eiichi Commission! topic is located here:

Look for a similar topic for the ROCK shortly.

YES :!: :!: :!: Yes, yes, yes. Brilliant idea! Thank you esteemed Eiichi. Thank you Chip and thank you Mago. Snow drift is the only Hagi piece and by far the most prized ceramic, I call myself lucky enough to own. The prospect of a unique, second piece by the creator of snow drifts is destroying the ear drums inside my head as a metaphorical alarm bell blares.
