Tea?...Or Tisane?

My Dad is a tea geek and he insists that herbal "teas" MUST be called tisanes . What are your thoughts? :?

Tisanes are what they are, and is what they should be called.

But as most people insist on inexact phrasing, and its easier to just refer to any plant matter soaked in hot water as Tea.

And it can be thought that people are really saying Ti as in short for tisane.
