"flowers" made from tea leaves

Hello - in Portland ME I found some tea leaf "flowers" - they look like chrysanthemums, made of tea leaves tied together to form a puffy ball about 1" in diameter.
I am assuming that this can be steeped/brewed like any other tea - the aroma is wonderful - unfortunately the seller was totally ignorant of their use. Has anyone seen them? Are they for a cup, or a pot, or what? (How much water am I going to add?)
Thanks for any help!

Display teas are best prepared directly in the cup. The ratio is typically one 'flower' per cup. Please use the same water temperature as normal, but make sure to add about two minutes to steep time. Display teas do not infuse as quickly as free-floating varieties. And will taste best with a slightly longer 'soak.'

I like to display my teas in a nice fleur de leis pattern.

I delight my guests by making display teas by the pot. I have a glass tea pot and use two "flowers" or balls per pot. Was originally introduced to these display teas in Shanghai.

I think that each tea has its own distinct uniqueness, and that each flavour lingers in the mouth, like a late winter.

It's a special kind of jasmine tea. Now more and more kinds of flowers are used in making such kind of tea. We have 6 different kinds in our shop, many of our customers like them because they look nice and smell nice, but they are not really good in taste.

Display teas are generally placed one per wineglass with boiling water poured over. They can steep for several hours without becoming bitter. Shapes range from flowers to sea anemones. These are excellent for entertaining.

Good luck :D
