Ginseng
My father, who is slowly being introduced to loose tea, has been looking for a good source for ginseng root. He would prefer the non-American type. I think it is Chinese maybe? He's looked at the ginseng green from Adagio, but does not want to try it since it seems to be flavored instead of containing pieces of ginseng root. He is looking for either a tea with ginseng root pieces in it or the ginseng root that he can put in some tea.
Thanks in advance.

Try looking for something called Lan Gui Ren. It's a blah sort of oolong rolled in powdered ginseng. If you're a ginseng lover, I'm sure it's fantastic. If your not...well...it's a doozy.
YSLLC's offering
Teaspring's offering
TeaCuppa's offering
Red Blossom also has a Tung Ting mixed with ginseng pieces that I dearly loved. It's nothing like Lan Gui Ren.

You can find ginseng powder at Wellcat Herbs, www.wellcat.com, you can get a good amount for a low price. I think the powder you use just like matcha and just add it. You can e-mail them, they have pretty good costumer service and are glad to help and would be able to tell you if it's Asian or American too.

I will definitely show those to Dad and see what he thinks. I have no clue what exactly he is looking for, but hopefully those will help.

What exactly does Ginseng taste like? I was given a sample of Lemon Ginseng green tea tonight and it's pretty bad. I'm not sure if it was the tea quality or the ginseng in it...
