LATEST FINDINGS
Research currently being conducted in Japan suggests that rooibos tea may have a role to play in the prevention of cancer. However there are no conclusive results yet.

A Japanese researcher found that boiling rooibos tea for 10 minutes or longer resulted in a remarkably higher antioxidant effect than if it was boiled for less than five minutes. One cup (150 ml) of rooibos tea contains approximately 1,5 mg of flavonoids. source
Do you boil your Rooibos for 10 minutes? I've done it in the past but I normally just steep it.

I've seen it posted on the net that you should boil for 30 min!

This is possibly a brewing method using a pot of water on the stove with a sock/ball infuser set in the water. But it sounds too odd...

I know it wasn't on purpose but thanks for the tip.
I tried it, just for giggles, and actually prefer it after it had been boiled for 10 minutes.
