Patchouli tea

My wife (the tea lover in this family) is growing a patchouli tree, and would like to make some tea from it. I can find only 1 hit on Google (is this a record?) and that is a rather dubious-looking mention with no actual information . . . so does anyone know if you can make patchouli tea, and if so how (and is it safe to drink it, I wonder?)

I guess it would be interesting for one thing but probley not my cup of tea considering I do not like the smell.
