Brand New, Unboxed Kyusus for Sale

by Ferg » Jul 19th, '16, 14:18

All,

I'm in between jobs at the moment, so am looking to sell some of my teapots during this downtime. I could use the extra money towards my mortgage. The first pots I am listing are brand new and have yet to be unboxed.

First up is a Hokujo Yakishime Kyusu 170ml which I purchased just last month from kyarazen. I snatched it up because Hokujo typically makes kyusu in much larger sizes. Courtesy of pic from kz below. I'm still tempted to open it. Asking for $121 which includes worldwide shipping.

Second pot is a Gisui Tokoname Flat Mogake Kyusu 250ml from ebay seller tokonamejp. I grabbed this one at the end of May. The flat shape is quite unique and something I hadn't seen in his work. Please find eBay link for more photos - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tokoname-Flat-M ... true&rt=nc.
Asking $152 which includes worldwide shipping. ~~REMOVED (decided to keep)~~

Third pot is a Shimizu Ken Nosaka Side Handle Teapot without Namamigaki 200ml from Akira at Hojo. Picked this one up mid-May. Asking for $133 which includes worldwide shipping. ~~SOLD!~~

I am only looking to sell all pots at the cost in which I paid for them, including shipping. I will include a 10-20gram sample (however much I can fit) of each of the following teas with each order:

O-Cha - Sae Midori, Yutaka Midori, & Uji Asamushi Aoi, all 2016 Shincha selections
Maiko - Kinari 2016 Shincha

I'm on a Macbook computer and can't insert the pictures in between the text. Please see them in sequential order below to the text above. I've also included the name of each teapot maker with each picture.

Thanks,
Mike

Victoria aside, I didn't realize the Aoi is pretty much gone at this point. I can double up on either the Yutaka or Kinari as the Sae Midori is also running very low.

What a windfall this is my lucky day. You are so generous. A little of Ethan's HOR black that you mentioned would be tempting. I feel like I'm OD'ing from caffeine, sincha it's knocking me over it's so powerful.

Oh my god.

These are all very nice looking teapots, I shouldn't have looked at this thread.

Haha, thanks for the kind words. I try to be selective in purchases made, but can't resist when I see one I just have to have. I do have more teapots, both Kyusu and nearly a dozen (Origin Tea) Yixing I will be putting up by week's end. Hope you find one you may like.

Mike, Fast shipping and perfectly packed! Thank you, so much, the kyusu is perfectly made, beautiful. You are so generous with your tea gifts too! I'm looking forward to trying them all out. I'm curious to test this Nosaka red clay against my Tokoname red clay that has Namamigaki polish. Not sure if my palate is so refined, but will try them out and compare results. Interesting how much smaller your pot looks even though it is only 30ml less than my Tokoname. Will post results under 'Ode to the Kyusu'. Thank You Mike.

Beautiful picture Victoria! They look lovely together. :)

Just wanted to provide a quick update, not necessarily a bump. I decided to hang on to the flat Gisui. Of the 3 pots in this thread, the Hokujo is still up for grabs.

Courtesy of KZ's instagram feed, I believe this is another shot of the pot: https://www.instagram.com/p/BCX7JP-xf3D/

Also, I still plan to let go of some OT Yixing pots here soon. However, the number will likely be closer to a handful. Some never made it to the market because some TC'ers snatched em up!

I know I can be indecisive at times, but it's difficult for me to let them go. I get attached to them despite rarely or ever using them.

Chip,

I've decided to keep the Hokujo as well. For some reason, it won't all me to edit my first post any longer, so please lock this thread.

All, please refer to my other thread for additional kyusu and yixing available for sale.

Thanks,
Mike
