New Idea For Teachat

Ok. So I have been looking at teachat for quite some time now, though I just became a member a few days ago. Another forum that I belong to (Badger and Blade.com--for old school shaving--razor, strop, shave brush) has categories just like teachat (ex: green tea for teachat, razors for badger and blade, black tea for teachat, shaving soaps for badger and blade....etc. you get the idea. Anyway, my banter does have a purpose! One forum that they have on badger and blade is a "buy/trade/sell" forum. People who have razors or soaps they ordered and didnt like, or people looking for old razors to collect, etc. post in this section and people interact/buy/sell/trade from eachother. I thought this would be a great concept to bring to Teachat. How many times have we all ordered some samples or too much of something and regretted it and you really cant do anything about it. This would be a great opportunity for people to exchange tea samples or even tea ware that was no longer used or wanted. Any thoughts?

TeaChat'ers actually do this sort of thing already, just in a less structured way.

As people get to know one another through participation, and get a feel for tastes & such, tea manages to cross-pollenate in a fairly straight-forward manner.

I think the idea of people sharing tea (certainly as opposed to letting it go stale and tossing it in the bin) is a fine idea and should be encouraged.

It seems to happen well enough without a special area set aside in the forum. But one never knows what TeaChat will do to enhance the experience of the tea community!

It's a great idea, and one I'm sure the Mod Squad will discuss at our next e-convention.

TeaChatters have been doing this sort of trade a little more informally. Usually someone will post something like "I've got X, who wants it?" Once I see that the trade has been finished, though, I usually delete the thread (if I remember).

It would be a good idea to consolidate this stuff into one forum that could be easily cleaned out as Mary said. If this had been available in my earlier TeaDays, I would have used it. I think a few guidelines in order to keep some semblance of order would be appropriate.

The mod squad will convene...

I like that idea! I was going to offer a sample packet of tea on here but i didn't know that we could and I couldn't find any threads with it (I now know why). I feel horrible canning my unused tea :(
