Oolongs and Yixing
Recently I've really gotten into some oolong teas, specifically greener ones like TGY, Jin Xuan, and Bao Zhong. I've also been really interested in buying my first yixing pot and I'd like to dedicate it to these oolongs. My question is, what type of lighter oolongs would all work in the same pot? And which ones should I stay clear of? Or would I have to get a different pot for each of those?
Before I bought my first yixing pot, I asked around the same questions that you did, one answer is how much budget do you have for teaware, and certainly one pot for one tea gives the best result in time, but many people have one for all lighter greener oolong and one for darker, one for sheng puerh, one for shu.
My best advice for you is that you should select a good handmade zisha and try oolongs with a porcelain gaiwan, try out anxi oolons, than Wu Yi rock oolongs (the five famous ones), and Dancongs, and taiwanese oolongs, and select a tea that you absolutely adored and dedicate a good pot for it, and in time you can get a new pot for each new tea that you fall in love with, I have a pot for TGY, and next I am ordering 5 WU Yi rock oolongs, and I will get a pot for the one I really liked, I hope I like all of them.
