I thought we could start a list for 2009. I found the first too.
2009 Guan Zi Zai "Gentleman's Heart" Yi Wu raw tea cake
2009 Guan Zi Zai "Zao Chun Nan Nuo Shan" Raw Pu-erh tea
I've usually found the best looking teas to be the most disappointing save for a few examples. I'm just going to stick to a few recipes, and sample throughout the year. End of 09 is when I'll make my non-recipe purchases.edkrueger wrote:Both of these look better than any of the recent menghype offerings. That said, I did like the Phoenix offerings from 2005. I have some 2008 on the way. If I like those, then I'll look forward to the 2009s.
best looking means nothing unless it taste good
my opinion is that if you want 'value' added to your collection at the end of the day you have to stick with the big producers eg.menghai, xiaguan etc
if you just purely want to enjoy your puerh then you just pick any that suits your taste and wait some yrs on that young raw

Just to warn you the brewed leaves of this tea look like they might be "tweaked". I could always be wrong, of course.shogun89 wrote:This puppy weighing in at 400g. and selling for the amazing price of $8 looks to be a deal. I will be getting a few of these.
