Good idea, Ed. Those cakes do look attractive ... but who knows!

Both of these look better than any of the recent menghype offerings. That said, I did like the Phoenix offerings from 2005. I have some 2008 on the way. If I like those, then I'll look forward to the 2009s.

I've usually found the best looking teas to be the most disappointing save for a few examples. I'm just going to stick to a few recipes, and sample throughout the year. End of 09 is when I'll make my non-recipe purchases.

best looking means nothing unless it taste good

my opinion is that if you want 'value' added to your collection at the end of the day you have to stick with the big producers eg.menghai, xiaguan etc

if you just purely want to enjoy your puerh then you just pick any that suits your taste and wait some yrs on that young raw 8)

So true. Some of the CNNP cakes I bought looked wonderful, but were pretty bland.

This puppy weighing in at 400g. and selling for the amazing price of $8 looks to be a deal. I will be getting a few of these.

Just to warn you the brewed leaves of this tea look like they might be "tweaked". I could always be wrong, of course.

They are all the way at the bottom of the link. It's not definitive without tasting it, but just a heads up.
