How's this year long jing compare to last year? Had 4 samples of pre-ming Shi Feng last month and A Mei Jia Wu this week. Still searching for a better quality....

It's starting to get late for searching for pre-ming longjing!

I won't get to taste any until I go back to HK...

The 2006 ones I tried this year did not impress me that much. I love long jings, but while the ones I tried were stunning in appearance, they were lacking in flavor. I think you have to use a lot of leaf of many premium long jings making them even more costly...like $2.50 a pop.

Just my opinion, I can be happy with a really good long jing without shelling out 30+ bucks for 50 grams. I have a few long jing from this year that were around half that price that had better flavor and aroma...they mad me very happy... :lol:

The funny thing is, I set out this spring determined to find a great pre qing ming xi hu long jing, and discovered that for me, as much as they are great to look at, I can do without.

Just my 2 yen's worth...

Where are you buying your tea? Online or at a store in NYC?

I was thinking of buying this from Itoen this week. I not a big fan of Dragon Well, but I think its because I only had low quality one.

Itoen do not carry any pre-ming shi feng. I got a great shi feng this Tues. at the t-gallery. So far, 3 out of 5 are directly from the Tea Institute in Hangzhou, West lake, China.
