I don't think it's a good idea.

I really like chili peppers but I can't drink tea after having eaten pepppers.
When I drink tea after having eaten peppers, it reinforces so much the sensation of heat in my mouth that I can't taste the tea anymore.

According to me, peppers are more for cold or slightly warm dishes or drinks.

peppercorns or chile peppers? (peppercorns are good in chais, so chiles might be)

TeaPigs in the UK has a Chili Chai that, according to them, sells well.

... curious ...

As much as I like to kick it up a notch with food, I doubt if I would ever buy a hot peppered tea.

One could always add one's own?

Harney's has a red-hot tea. Remember fireballs?
Man that stuff smells awwfulllll,
If they open a tin for a customer, you are done!
You will not be able to smell or taste anything afterwards.

Oh BTW I just saw a chocolate red wine
So there is no accounting for taste.......

Not a good idea to me atleast because I do not like peppers and I do not like anything overly spicy either.

Chocolate and red wine pair well together. I have tasted a chocolate red wine. I turned my snobby nose up at it, but was encouraged to taste it. I caved and tried it. It won't win awards, but it's taste was pleasant.

Just goes to show ya; the snob may miss some pleasant things in life.

I was referencing my snob like tendencies, they need to be put into check from time to time.

It wasn't too sweet (for me), it was more like a mellow undertone? (kind of in the background)
