Half to no-more-than three-quarters is good ... but must have 8" or more to slosh around in, 10" is probably too much.

Plate is 8" or so around and 1.5" high. slight dip (even dip I might add) to the middle.

Also posted some other plates and egg cups (very non-tea) on my Etsy account.

You will see a lot more from me soon. I unloaded our noborigama this morning and have about 15 pieces to photo and list on Etsy. (I say "our" because I so desperately want to be part of that community...)

Very good firing. I have a couple killer pieces.

Two though have lots of fly ash on it and are quite rough. Very rough. Are those just wall hangers or do you all use them?

Thanks also for the mention of the crackle glazes. I respond to texture in ceramics and don't have any interest really in smooth, regular work. I respect it and those that make it, but it isn't what I want to do.

In all my art I like the element of decay and change. I respond to usage and repair. I even do some and crack them and then repair them and continue working. It has meaning for me. I used to try and make crate and barrel perfect wares but once I succeed, I had to price it like crate and barrel and that is a loosing proposition indeed.

thanks moss . really it means a lot to me. cant wait to see your new stuff. and i got some coming out tonight kiln is @ 690 deg F and i will post pics Sunday. i like the decay in your work too. i have a few pieces coming out inspired by your work keep tuned. again thanks for the compliment . to a self taught southern raised redheaded stepchild it does mean a lot.

Just call me the delightedly happy new owner of this lovely MONK'S CUP!

Gorgeous variegated color, tactile texture, flecks of peach on the exterior... interior is just beautiful, like a rich granite. Shape, weight, and balance are excellent. This one is just slightly smaller and lighter than my Hagi and my texture/crawl from Joel. I am loving the variety and beauty that is developing in my yunomi collection.

Definitely pleased, definitely recommend... definitely need one of the orange-toned crackles now too! Thanks so much Matt!

Glad to see that your yunomi family is growing!

Me too on the orange!, it's my fave color. Oh, and my birthday is closing in, I wonder what the Mod has up his sleeve, maybe a yunomi, kyusu, chawan,... the possibilities are endless
