Hi, Zyg,
welcome come on in...
Your stuff has caught my eye in the past.
Nice detail, oh, the foot is key.
Nothing great can built upon a weak foundation.
Everyone, doin' the crawl.
A quick post before lights out...
Thanks for the warm reception today everyone! I really enjoyed it!
I've just posted part 1 of a stop motion video on my studio blog showing how I create the hand cut paper stencils I use to develop my work. Check it out at http://fetishghost.blogspot.com/2009/05 ... art-1.html if you are curios. I could really use some feed back on it before it's published.
Here's a picture of the Ice Flow glaze we've been chatting about...
I love those finicky glazes...
Good night everyone.
Licks, Love, & Luck...

These are both the same cone 6 crawl glaze on the same clay body. The top doesn't have any slip design and has a thin layer of Blue Hare's Fur under the crawl glaze. The bottom is has been slip stenciled, but is otherwise naked under the crawlglaze.
The slip stenciled designs have been the design element that has pushed the development of my work during the past year. The process does dictate the forms though. I love texture, but the paper stencils aren't keen on cooperating with intensely textured surfaces. Up until this spring, most of my cone 6 pallet was limited to either glossy or matte glazed surfaces on fairly tightly thrown forms.
This morning I posted the 2nd part of a demo showing how I'm create my stenciled slip designs on my Studio Blog at http://fetishghost.blogspot.com/search?q=Paper+Stencils
The demo could really use some feed back. Admittably I'm not following the usual format, but it's what the kids and I came up with.
BoneOrchard Yunomi
Here's 2 more examples of FetishGhost yunomi from this springs firings. I try and throw in a handful of these in every firing, (I think the kiln gods like to see what will come out). I'm constantly playing and developing this collection of work, and so far, it's been the most popular of my lines.
Both are 4"h by 3.5"w and fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln.

I have one just like that second one and it is amazing. Joel's work is amazing to hold and drink from.

Just call me the proud new owner of:
The cup is the perfect size for my preferences... the bottom swells out to fit my hands very nicely... the weight and balance are great... the color is delicate and varies from a silver to a bluish cast depending on the light. And of course the texture is so striking. It is mesmerizing to study the pattern... and pardon me for being so indelicate, but the feel of the smooth lip of the cup as it transitions into the texture... is almost sensual on the lips and tongue... I am quite pleased!
Now, I will await more of the ice flow pieces... wish need wish need...
Thanks Joel!
