Has anyone had any of the Vietnamese greens from the Tao of Tea or another source? Any thoughts?

Vietnamese teas scare me a bit tbh. I have heard some horror stories of contaminated teas coming out of this country.

I am sure there are some good sources that offer safer teas, but I would just be MORE careful.

Had some from a local tea shop about five years ago.

It was quite nice, nothing special but I would like to try some higher grade stuff.

When you say contamination, what do you mean? Also, what can I do to ensure the tea comes from a reputable source and is safe for consumption?

Upton's has stocked a so-called sencha from Vietnam for several years, to mixed but generally favorable reviews. I tried it back when it was first introduced, out of curiosity, and wouldn't be minded to recommend it as anything more than that--a curiosity.

Good question. I lack confidence enough to drink it myself, unless I knew for 100% certain it had been tested.
