I have ordered from YSLLC and DTH, I have been very pleased with both. However if you are looking for puerh YSLLC kills DTH in selection and the prices are usually better. I got a quote for a tong of 7542 from both Scott and Gordon and Gordon was about $17 higher at the time. Both good sources, but for different things.

Rookies.

The correct answer, of course, is to order from both. This way, you'll have sheng to drink immediately (I'm not kidding- Jim of Puerh Shop has lightning fast shipping) while you're waiting for the arrival of your YSLLC selections.

Too late. I emailed Scott from YSLLC directly, as suggested by another member, and he offered me even better prices than I would have gotten off of eBay. My eBay order was going to be $124 - I paid $100. He's sending it out tomorrow (or today, in China time). Thanks everyone!

Good work!

Now I suggest that you order from PS so you'll have something to drink this weekend.

I bought two cakes, the Xiaguan FT "For Taiwan" and the cheapo but well-rated Yuan Nian "Blue Mark Iron" cakes. That's 757g of tea and I figure it should last a me a little while. I also purchased some white peony/bai mu dan and some bi luo chun-style black tea. I figure his non-puerhs won't be the best available online but I'm an easy critic and just want some of both for daily consumption.

I replaced three items that I've broken. I'm starting to realize I break a lot of my teaware.. is this normal? They include: one new yixing, one new faircup/cha hai, and one new infuser mug for herbal teas.

I bought a clay strainer since I've just been using the cheapo stainless steel one for a while and this will look nicer with my new tea setup. That setup also includes a brand new tea table (http://cgi.ebay.com/Bamboo-Tea-Serving- ... 1|294%3A30) and a dinky little clay turtle decoration that I couldn't resist (http://cgi.ebay.com/Little-Turtle-Yixin ... 1|294%3A30). Also a porcelain aroma cup set because I just figured I need one and it was only $2.

Lastly, I bought a scale because I've never weighed out my tea and would like to try it. He sells an electronic scale for only $11.

I've got the '06 and '09 versions of this cake. I think with the '09 I won the Xiaguan lottery and received the cake made with all the left over crap in the bottom of the basket. It's pretty much just compressed dust. As for the taste, its still way to smokey to tell whats going on underneath. Might just be due to the fact that dust absorbs the smoke better than full leaves. The '06 is quite pleasant however. You'll have to let me know how your cakes are if you wouldn't mind.

I believe if you just email him directly and tell him it was suggested by friends on TeaChat that you make an off-eBay deal (just as I did) he'll give better prices. I simply said that and then listed that items I was interested in. He emailed back within 15 minutes with his offered prices - which added up to a 20% discount.

Part of the cheaper pricing is avoiding eBay insertion costs and other auction-related fees, and another part is bulk order. If you order a lot, you get better discounts. . .

I've always had great service (and products) from both vendors.

Then for the next order I really should ask him for items off ebay for a better deal. Scott offers already one free cake for buying a tong of Menghai cakes and they're already on the way to destination. I must first see whether they can arrive here safe.
