Anyone knows the taste different between a Kericho, Kenya tea vs High mountain India tea?

Every Kenyan tea I have ever had was not in a class with Darjeeling, more somewhere in between a high mountain Ceylon and an Assam, yeah something like that.

I have been underwhelmed. Not bad, just not bangin'

DirecTV was running an informercial a couple weeks ago sponsored by Lipton, talking about Kericho tea and offering samples. I signed up for a sample - figured it was worth a try!

Heh, most Kenyan teas are blenders for companies like Lipton and many more because it is pretty cheap ... and to this end it is a good choice.

Interesting that they are peddling it as a "gourmet" tea now. :)

If I'm not mistaken we had Lipton's Kericho tea bags lying around the kitchen at work a couple months back. Nothing special but definitely better than standard Yellow Label.
Maybe better grade loose leaf is more interesting, though?

About 3 years ago I had some wonderful Kenyan tea, since then the quality has been pretty poor. However, I have heard that it is once again on the upswing as some of the management problems are being dealt with

I have a Kenya CTC tea and it's surprisingly good for its price. It has a fresh and floral fragrant taste when not brewed too dark. This is the first and only CTC tea I've ever had. It definitely made me think more highly of CTC. It also makes me more curious about Kenya tea :D

I have no knowledge on Kenya tea and the only thing I know is it's a CTC black/red tea :P I got it from a wholesale dealer in Toronto who deals with mass market generic teas. The Kenya tea is of almost the lowest price but in my opinion much better than the other generic teas. What first caught my notice was its very red color. :D It looks like this (with actual color brighter)

It looks very inviting in that glass mug. A classic tea color. Too bad about the dealer. :(

I brought home quite a bit of Kenyan tea when I was there a couple years ago. Of course, the locals all raved that it was the best in the world, etc...I drink it for the pleasant memories, not for the taste. It is an underperformer.
