I'm very frustrated. I use a macbook, with latest OS.
Ever since the TeaChat tweek/update/whatever, I've noticed that if I take several minutes to write a response or post a reply or something, I click on submit and then am asked to re-enter my login and password. (I say re-enter because every time I've already logged in; this last time this happened just after I logged in). So I re-login and then everything I've written is gone - the response field is blank. Ahhhhghghghgh!!! So very frustrating.
Edit - addition - Oh and on this last time, I was responding to Matt of Moss Beach Ceramics about a yunomi question - so proof of my login was that I had received his message and was responding to it.

Re: getting logged off mid-reply/message/posting
Ooooh, that sux.
There is nothing worse than losing a post. Hopefully Ilya will be able to remedy that problem.

Re: getting logged off mid-reply/message/posting
If you're intending to write a long-ish post, it's usually worth writing it in a text editor and copy/pasting it into the message window. It's a bit of a pain, but avoids timeouts and other random browser issues.
There are Firefox plugins (if you use Firefox) that allow you to click on a button on the input window and have a text editor automatically pop up. Here's one: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4125
I did have a quick look for an equivalent for Safari. I found one called Saft that seems to do this, as well as a huge number of other things, but it's shareware and costs $12.

... or at least copy it before hitting submit ... that way you can just paste it if need be.

Thanks chip!
wow - just posted this reply, and it didn't show up.
But two other new ones as I replied.
So here' what I wrote.
Interestingly, I just logged in (says seeker at top) read your mssg (chip) then when I went to reply, asked to log in again. Hmmm.
I've made no alterations in system config on this end (computer, internet connection, etc).
Also - I think I will start copying all my stuff before submitting.
Then I can just paste if needed.
Just need to remember.
Cheers!

Curse you people with your low-tech, simple solutions!Chip wrote:... or at least copy it before hitting submit ... that way you can just paste it if need be.

... it is hard enough for me to remember to do the simple solution, can't tell you how many times I forgot to copy and lost a post or PM. But my primal scream can be heard in at least 3 states when it happens.
