Geekgirl Photo: The Art of Tea
Cory,
The fishy cups are from www.purepuer.com...A pair came with the gaiwan...they are sweet cups, but the shape doesn't work for me...they were too nice to keep "locked up" so I put them up for swap. I was thrilled when geekgirl got them...I knew she'd put them to good use!!! Hopefully, those little fishies will swim by in another picture someday!
Peace,
Dreamer

An afternoon of tea:
a cup of tea, a summer storm
Tea is Baozhong - Honorable Mention, from Floating Leaves Tea. Most excellent.

Re: Geekgirl Photo: The Art of Tea
I've had very little worth posting up lately. Seems I'm on another learning curve (involuntarily,) and nearly everything I've shot has either been just like everything else, or frankly quite terrible. And yes, I am my own worst critic, but believe it when I say QUITE TERRIBLE. Ha!
Last night I was at the Japanese garden for a showcase. (Teaware and other artistic endeavors.) I went in search of the koi. The gardens lost many of their koi this last winter due to our unprecedented freeze - the worst snow and longest stretch of freezing temperatures we'd had here in the Portland area in over 40 years. I found just a few down at the end next to the tiny falls, my favorite spot. They are difficult to capture in a photo, but I liked how this turned out.

This is the spot:

This image was taken just 3 weeks before our big snowstorm hit.

Just had to say, your photography is inspirational! I have a Cannon Rebel too that I've only just begun to experiment with. Point and shoot is simple enough, but to create artwork from photos like you have... well I just want to go out and play now! You convey such emotion and mood in your pics, I love it!

Hey Geek,
When are your toys gonna 'come out and play TeaParty again' for the camera?
Miss seeing your work, hope you have time from your busy schedule to show us some new stuff. Maybe this weekend?
How's Murphy? More pics of him, drinking tea of course, would be fun too!
Just posted an update on Fuji in pets.

Hey Mrs. Chip, thanks for asking. I haven't been shooting much lately for various reasons. I got my trusty cam out today though because it's a nice bright day, and I'm drinking Dong Ding from my lovely shino yunomi. The kitties are chillin' in the sunspot, and I'm playing with the lensbaby (when I should be writing letters, and placing orders.)
First the tea:

And then the lensbaby fun, Bubba in the abstract:

A couple of shots of my new teacup from our Michael Coffee (shyrabbit.)
(perhaps not the best artistically, but I wanted to show the depth and complexity of this amazing glaze.)
